I have a WWII bayonet I bought at an antique store complete with its original sheath. It has had an odd rancid butter smell for the past several months...the same has occurred with several screwdrivers I put in a tool box in my car's trunk, and the screwdrivers and box all had to be tossed. Needless to say there is no way I'm tossing my bayonet, and need to find out why this is happening and if there is a "cure". Any help would be great!
