More about my Nazi relative?

I posted on here a few days ago about finding a pic of a relative of mine that was an SS officer during WW2. I found out that the pic I was looking at particularly was of my third cousin. I decided to take a closer look to see what else I could make out. Here is the description. Does anyone have any input on what his position may have been? He is wearing what looks like a modern military dress uniform but it is in black (or dark blue--pic is b/w) He has a dagger on a chain and a swastika on his arm (band). His hat is like a modern officers hat as well, but it is dark in color and has a some sort of round shaped metal piece on it that is too small to make out in the photo. He has a cuff band too which just reads (under intense magnification) "RFSS" Anyone have any ideas?
Very interesting guys. As far as the last name goes, I'm not sure. It could be Reichhuber, Schrettenbauer (not likely) or Grabmeier. They were from Dingolfing, Bavaria (Bayern.) My 3rd cousin who came to the states, his last name was Reichhuber and this is a picture of his brother who stayed back in Germany. He may have changed his name, I'm uncertain.
Wow... very cool. I'm thinking about trying to contact those companies in Germany. I wonder if I wrote in English if anyone would be able to translate. HAHA...not to ask them about my sketchy relatives, just to see what's up. How cool! Particularly the Reichhubers. That was my great grandmothers maiden name and she came over here just prior to WW2.
